Scope of this policy
This policy applies to this participant information website and to the Metasleep research app/data collection described here. The website itself is static and informational. The research app uses authorized data retrieval for the approved study.
Data we collect
Depending on device availability, participant authorization, and study configuration, the study may collect the following categories of biometric and activity data from the Huawei Watch D2 and related Huawei Health services.
Blood pressure
Blood-pressure outcomes measured as authorized by the participant.

How we collect data
Data collection follows this technical path: Huawei Watch D2 to Huawei Health / Health Service Kit, participant authorization through Huawei's OAuth authorization flow where required, and research server retrieval through the Health Service Kit REST API.
The static website does not collect participant health data. Authorized study data retrieval is handled by the research server infrastructure.
Why we use the data
The data is used for scientific research, analysis of blood-pressure outcomes, treatment-efficacy assessment, research reporting, and research publication.
Legal basis
Who can access the data
Access should be restricted to authorized research team members and technical administrators where necessary to operate, secure, or support the approved study infrastructure. Access should be limited to what each role needs for the study.
Sharing and publications
Research outputs and publications should use aggregated or anonymized results where possible and should not directly identify participants. Coded or pseudonymized data may be used for research analysis where appropriate under approved study procedures.
International transfers / third parties
The study may involve Huawei Health Service Kit as part of participant authorization and health-data access. The website is hosted as a static GitHub Pages website. The research app may also rely on institutional or hosting/server providers needed to operate the approved study infrastructure. Exact vendor and transfer details should be confirmed in the official institutional documentation when applicable.
How long we keep data
Retention period: 2028-12-31.
Security
Appropriate measures should be used to protect study data, including encrypted connections, access control, pseudonymization or coding where possible, and limited access for authorized personnel. The data will reside on the university servers.
Participant rights
Participants may have rights under GDPR and applicable local law, including rights to access their data, request correction, request deletion where applicable, request restriction of processing, object or withdraw where applicable, and complain to the competent supervisory authority.

How to withdraw or revoke access

- Revoke app/API permissions through Huawei account or Health settings where applicable.
Technical revocation and study withdrawal are related but separate steps. Participants should contact the study team so the official study procedure can be followed.
Website privacy
This website itself does not collect participant data, does not use analytics, does not set tracking cookies, and does not include forms. It is hosted as a static GitHub Pages website.
